Welcome Mr. Dutton to St. Mary’s!

The St. Mary’s community is thrilled to welcome Mr. Cole Dutton to our school for the remainder of the school year. Mr. Dutton will be teaching English for grades 7, 9, and 10, along with Social Studies 8, Religion 8, and Health 8.
Mr. Dutton comes to us with a deep passion for education and a rich background in teaching and support roles. He grew up in the Spruce Grove and Stony Plain area and graduated from Spruce Grove Composite High School in 2010. His journey into education began early, teaching part-time with St. John Ambulance and later gaining invaluable experience as an Education Assistant with Edmonton Catholic Schools. These experiences solidified his calling to teach, leading him to pursue a Bachelor’s in Education at the University of Alberta.
Currently residing in Edmonton, Mr. Dutton enjoys life with his wonderful wife, Nicole, and their playful dog, Twix. Together, they cherish time with family and are excited about their plans to grow their family in the coming years.
Mr. Dutton is eager to connect with the students, staff, and families of St. Mary’s. "I couldn’t hope for a better opportunity to learn and grow as a teacher and person with Elk Island Catholic Schools, specifically St. Mary’s," he shared.
He encourages everyone to say hello and looks forward to getting to know the community. With Mr. Dutton’s enthusiasm and dedication, we are confident he will make a positive impact on our students and contribute to a successful school year!
Welcome to St. Mary’s, Mr. Dutton!
